Celebrating and Developing the Film Voice of Tangata Whenua
Established in 2007, Te Paepae Ataata may have a profound impact in assisting to develop culturally specific tangata whenua cinema.
Funded by the New Zealand Film Commission, Te Paepae Ataata is an Incorporated Charitable Trust.
Te Paepae Ataata comes hard on the heels of Barry Barclay's death. A friend, colleague, and major influence on the New Zealand Film industry and to whom some form of acknowledgement is owed in reference to the timing of the setting up of Te Paepae Ataata. This was his vision.
